They have no way of getting back to earth, no hope for survival.

Cyborg 009 x 003 series#
Anyway, the series ends with Cyborg 002 and 009 stuck out in space. Remember Skull, cuz I'll be bringing him up later. It involves taking on the titular Underground Empire, along with the return of Black Ghost and its leader Skull. This was eventually changed when the manga was renewed, so we got the true finale (in my eyes) called "The Underground Empire of Yomi" arc. Before Yomi, the original printing of the Mythos arc ended on a cliffhanger that implied all the Cyborgs and the false gods died in a volcanic eruption. So, this was the original finale to the Cyborg 009 manga. Yes, you know you've hit it big when you've made a manga based off the musical legend David Bowie. The man made Kamen Rider, Super Sentai (AKA Power Rangers), Kikaider, and even did a David Bowie manga. The manga was made by Shotaro Ishinomori, who holds the world record for most manga made. They defeat Black Ghost, do battle against the gods, and fight various monsters and villains that try to kill them. Rebelling against the criminal organization, the cyborgs become a crimefighting team. I'm going to avoid rehashing the whole thing in this rant, since I want to focus on aspects that are left out as well as the adaptations that were made after the post was made.Ĭyborg 009 tells the story of 9 humans who are kidnapped by the evil Black Ghost criminal organization and our turned into cyborgs against their will. Before I talk about it though, I do have to admit that I was inspired to do this rant by this old blog post called "Cyborg 009: The Long Road to an Ending". I want to talk about the ending to Cyborg 009, which is one of the biggest examples of mangaka burnout one can think of. Yep, a Cyborg 009 rant! I haven't made one of these in like a year, so I thought it was time to revisit the series.
